Trauma Therapy - In The Arena

We Uncover The Source

The therapists at In The Arena have worked in the field of trauma for over 10 years.  We recognize that trauma is not always obvious.  It’s not always childhood abuse or rape or military combat.  Sometimes, trauma can mean a slightly neglectful relationship with mom.  It can mean a father who worked constantly and rarely saw you.  It can come from middle school bullying, car accidents, abandonment, loss of pets, family stress, and even something you saw on television that you can’t get out of your head.

Trauma comes in all shapes and sizes, and you may not even know it’s there. Our job is to help you see what might have traumatized you and how we can help set you free!

Recognize the Symptoms

If your past seems to linger in the present or if you’re suffering from nightmares or fear or social anxiety, then you may be affected by trauma or even PTSD.  If you’re overwhelmed by feelings of shame or inadequacy or your mind constantly tells you a story that says, “You’re not good enough” or “You’re not safe”, then traumatic symptoms might be robbing you of your self-worth.  If your mind says one thing, but your heart and your body say another, then it might be time to come see us.

We Specialize in EMDR & Other Trauma-Informed Approaches

Trauma is our specialty and something we believe is hiding beneath the surface of so many problems today.  It is our mission to educate the world on trauma, one individual at a time, and help eliminate suffering and restore peace.   EMDR is one of many approaches we use, but it may be the weirdest, so here's a little information about it:

According to multiple studies, 84-90% of single-trauma victims no longer suffer from symptoms of PTSD after only 3-4 sessions of EMDR.

Another study shows that 77% of combat veterans were free of PTSD after only 6 sessions (EMDR Institute).

Many of our therapists are trained and skilled in EMDR therapy and believe in its effectiveness.  We know that EMDR works, and we know that it works faster than many other forms of treatment.   Through this incredible approach, we facilitate your brain’s natural healing mechanisms and watch a powerful transformation unfold!  If EMDR is not for you, our providers will recommend other powerful modalities that might be a better fit!

What Our Clients Are Saying

Donna

I’ve benefited greatly from EMDR treatment. For example, many of my fears and anxieties through all of these years have been reduced with just a few sessions of EMDR. I feel like these fears have been processed to the point, where I’m not influenced by these challenges anymore. Thank you, Holly.

Sareena P.

It’s like Summer took all of my puzzle pieces, put them together and showed me the finished puzzle. She helped me understand why I behave the way I do, where the root of my problems stem from. I will never stop recommending her. Thank you Summer for rescuing me from myself.

Blake M.

I was facing the most extreme case of anxiety I had ever known. I was using Xanax and other anti-depressants to cope with my day to day activities. Summer introduced me to EMDR where I was forced to face my fears and find the root cause of my anxiety. Fast forward 3 months and I’m free of ANY medications. EMDR helped me find my root cause and I’m so thankful!
